It’s always pure joy to see my friend, Jason Forbach, on my nyc visits. The brightest light in a room and a fantastic actor with a beautiful voice. His next show is “Ragtime”….opening later this month at Lincoln Center

Really enjoyed seeing “The Lion King” for the first time onstage on Sunday….the costumes, puppetry, and music were as beautiful as everyone has told me they would be. It was sweet to see lots of children enjoying the show. We had a couple of littles around us who were both antsy but also so cute and funny with their reactions. Gavin Lee as Scar and L. It’s something about Brody!! Saw Brody Grant again last night on 45th St. after the evening “Outsiders” performance. He plays PonyBoy Curtis and his voice is like butter on a brioche bun…it’s beautiful. I met him in June (and had sent him a cool monogrammed baseball cap in July). Everything and plain bagels to dip in our Tiramisu cream cheese….not feeling adventurous with the butter so went the plain route….always a 10/10 at PopUp!  Hot and fresh and perfect

Finally went to the Sheffield’s house on the upper east side…..worth it….Fran was so funny as The Nanny…miss that show!

We ventured into the lower east side this morning and devoured breakfast: strawberry matcha croissant, cherry tomato & arugula & balsamic baguette, peach melba danish (later with Evan!), and an ube ice cream sandwich….worth every calorie!!!

Of the new shows I have seen this year, this is my favorite….hands down. It’s so smartly written and so timely. Tina Fey and Marc Platt and Sadie Sink are bringing it to the big screen (next year, I hope). It leaves Broadway in a week. “Maybe Happy Ending” round two. It is a very sweet. It has beautiful sets and visuals, explores technology, themes of love and connections and memories (happy and sad), and weaves in jazzy singing, between Darren Criss and Helen J. Shen’s numbers. I loved Darren in “Little Shop” and saw this show last year. Saw it again last night to refresh my memory and take in some elements I missed the first time around. It won the Tony this year for Best Musical. I don’t know if I agree

We heard about the amazing cheeseburger  here that has crispy potato strings, red onions and bbq mayo….and these roasted carrots  with scallion everything bagel cream cheese!   We finished it off with banana pudding tiramisu!

Adam and I know no strangers….we sat next to each other at the Louis Armstrong musical back in February and have stayed in touch….it was a must to intro him to the greatness of the Schmackary's ! Adam created West End Outings  for theatre lovers in London and he’s grown it significantly in the last three years. Check it out ! Adam, I so loved seeing you…safe travels tomorrow.
