I’m heading back to Dallas from NYC now…my great friend, Allen Roybal , came to visit over the weekend and left last night….this is our 4th NYC trip together and we always have the best time…friend meetups, musicals, bagels, coffees, museums, parks, walking tours, pizza, dog pets, shopping…we do it all and laugh the whole way. Cheers, Allen!! Thanks for bringing the party!! You put up with my OCD and I appreciate it

I have been staying at the Civilian Hotel in Hell’s Kitchen the last couple of times I’ve come to the city. I met Terrence and his Mom in November…they own Mr. Green Laundry on 9th Avenue. It’s open every single day and they launder everything….no dry cleaning, though. They are THE NICEST and most hard working Mom and son….and can launder your clothes almost always same day. Check them out if you are in town and need clean duds!!

We had a very delicious, enjoyable, fun dinner last night at La Lanterna di Vittorio before our show. It’s a beautiful Italian restaurant near Washington Square Park….they serve lasagna “flights” (four ramekins of lasagna 1/4s by beef/pork, vegetarian or seafood categories) and they are amazing…came here over the summer and I’m hooked. Great bruschetta, pizzas and salads, too. NYC has fantastic Italian restaurants but this one has become my favorite.  Ask for Gabby as your se

Curtain call at “Death Becomes Her” last night….such a starry cast and a hilarious and fun ride of a great show….the colors, sets, singing and overall hilarity all throughout the show were a blast. Highly recommend the fun! #thatwasrude

A fter Central Park yesterday, we walked a lot on the upper East Side and needed some a/c and a refresher….we happened into this beautiful Thai restaurant and had some snacks and a nice rest….Audrey had heard of this spot before and we all enjoyed our snacks

Had the best dinner last night before a show… Amy Rebideaux  and Stephen Mark Schwitzer  have recommended this place to me, and Allen and I have been wanting to try it. All of the cheese boats (think pizza without marinara and in a “boat”) were phenomenal…steak with mushrooms, spinach, meatball, gouda….and the garlic chimichurri-esque sauce was a great dipping option. Delish pickled vegetables, too!  So HIGHLY recommend!  Thanks, Amy and Stephen!!

Last minute delicious Indian dinner with Steve who’s in town for work…it’s always so nice to catch up and what a nice bonus to both be here at the same time and grab a great meal….thanks for reaching out and thank you for always keeping the JJP alumni all connected…it’s so appreciated!

Worked hard today but also made time to grab a burger at Lovely’s Burgers on 9th, go to Chinatown and Little Italy, go to Bryant Park, have dinner with my long time friend Steve, ice cream with my long time friend Allen, and enjoy the city. Almost 17,000 steps today and I’m exhausted. Good night!

A new experience of seeing my favorite play…..opening night of the North America tour of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child  in Chicago with Allen

Dinner at Hoexter’s (one of my favorites in the city!) last night with Audrey, John and Sammy was delicious….and we loved seeing “This Is Not A Drill” at the The Theatre at St. Jean’s  on preview opening night.

So loved seeing John Clutts and his husband, Sammy, last night at opening preview of the Off Broadway show, “This Is Not A Drill.” This musical is about the terrifying Hawaiian Missile Alert, based on true events experienced by conceptor Holly O’Brien. John and i were cutting up in front of the gorgeous church that has a theatre in it.   Audrey and I really enjoyed it….you could see all of the hard work and love that has gone into it.
