Early last year, a friend of a friend suggested eating at Rezdora, a rustic Italian restaurant focused on the cuisine of Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, in the Flatiron District. I never went and kind of forgot about it until my friend Kelly suggested it the other day by text.
Yesterday, I happened (completely unplanned) to be a 4 minute walk from it, after visiting the Fotografiska New York museum. They opened at 5, and there were at least 15 other diners there, waiting to get in the door - at about 4:55. I snagged a spot at the bar, thanks to Nathan the host, and Sierra the bartender was awesome. I devoured a Cacio e Pepe salad and an eggplant pasta dish that was very delicious. I also enjoyed an elderberry Prosecco spritzer called the “Hugo.” And finished it off with a light, creamy pistachio chocolate, thanks to the staff. Dallas-born Chef Stefano Secchi presides over this One MICHELIN Star restaurant. Pricy? Yes - not my typical place to dine. Worth it? Yes - it was a special and long-awaited experience.
