June 5, 2025 - Harry Potter & The Cursed Child

Audrey’s first time to see Cursed Child and my 22nd time….and we had a blast taking snaps at stage door with Erik Peterson, Aaron Bartz and Dan Fredrick. We also saw Matthew James Thomas, Sarah Killough and Gary-Kayi Fletcher (he said his lucky number was 22 when I said it was my 22nd time to see it). We really missed Alex Serino but his understudy, Riley Thad Young, did a really great job tonight!

It was announced today that Tom Felton, who played Draco in all the Harry Potter movies, will take over in November (thru March 2026) as Draco at the Lyric. That’s very exciting for the fandom and I’m happy for him but I will greatly miss Aaron Bartz in the role. He’s one of the nicest, most genuine people you could truly ever meet. Kind, grateful, sweet. He holds the longest-running Draco on Broadway, to-date. He started as an understudy for the role in year 2 and elevated to the character by year 3. He takes his final bow as part of year 6 cast on Sunday, November 9th (ticket bought!).

He is the first actor to have performed all 3 iterations of Cursed Child as Draco and has been the greatest Draco Malfoy onstage! BIG thank you to Leif Estrada for the above info. He’s as big a fan of Aaron’s as I am - even more cuz he has known him longer. But we get to keep seeing Aaron onstage for 5 more months and I love that!
