Another great visit….a wonderful stay at the Algonquin….Jimmy (one of the doormen) has worked there for 20 years….always a gentleman. He told me that the Algonquin (built in 1902) was the first hotel to offer hotel rooms in NYC to actors and single women travelers. And my favorite cat in NYC, Hamlet, made sure to give me a sleepy but cutie face.

“The Algonquin Round Table began meeting in 1919, and within a few years its participants included many of the best-known writers, journalists, and artists in New York City. Among them were Dorothy Parker, Alexander Woollcott, Heywood Broun, Robert Benchley, Robert Sherwood, George S. Kaufman. “
