A new experience of seeing my favorite play…..opening night of the North America tour of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child  in Chicago with Allen

Dinner at Hoexter’s (one of my favorites in the city!) last night with Audrey, John and Sammy was delicious….and we loved seeing “This Is Not A Drill” at the The Theatre at St. Jean’s  on preview opening night.

So loved seeing John Clutts and his husband, Sammy, last night at opening preview of the Off Broadway show, “This Is Not A Drill.” This musical is about the terrifying Hawaiian Missile Alert, based on true events experienced by conceptor Holly O’Brien. John and i were cutting up in front of the gorgeous church that has a theatre in it.   Audrey and I really enjoyed it….you could see all of the hard work and love that has gone into it. Stage door at “The Outsiders” is always super crowded and is so much fun. This cast is very good to its fandom….Brent Comer (Darrel Curtis) and Emma Pittman (Cherry Valance) come out A LOT and sign everything and take a bazillion pics…always kind and nice to see them!

If I’m hungry or thirsty for more than five minutes, am I really doing it right while I’m here?!?!

On Thursday, I trekked out to Coney Island with my favorite tour guide, Adam Guy . This is my 7th walking tour with Adam…his tour guide company is called I Know A Guy NYC Tours . I’ve been to Queens, Chelsea, the Village, Roosevelt Island, Central Park, and now Coney Island with Adam on these tours. He tailors his tours so nicely for his clients, and my friends and I have always had a great time and learned a lot. You need him for your next NYC trip!!    The day was absolutel

Samantha and I had a great day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden s on Friday, followed by a delicious, healthy dinner at Westville Hell's Kitchen  and then we saw the intense “Stranger Things” show at the Marriott Marquis theatre. Audrey and I were IN “Phantom” last night….we went to Masquerade, an immersive, off-Broadway experience based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of The Opera. It was an interactive show where all guests wore masks and extravagant attire, moving through the production's sets to explore the Phantom's world and experience the story up close. Wren and I thoroughly enjoyed “The Outsiders” tonight. There were a lot of AMAZING understudies on stage who killed it!! Jennifer Lyn  has taught me how understudies are the true heroes of shows….my appreciation for them grows with each show I see. Josh Strobl was the understudy tonight for Johnny Cade….he also covers for PonyBoy Curtis. He’s a 2016 Jimmy Award winner and it’s very obvious why….I always enjoy seeing him onstage and at stage door…what a nice guy! I wore my Tul

Evan and I grabbed a tasty dinner before heading off to see the revival of “Art” on Tuesday night. I mistakenly thought this was a new show but it was a revival - and a Tony winner - in 1998. We loved the cast of Bobby Cannavale, James Corden, and Neil Patrick Harris. I am not a big Corden fan but, damn, he was great! The original cast featured Alan Alda, Victor Garber and Alfred Molina. The play has a limited 17-week run and was a funny and intense look at adult friendships.

Had a lovely time seeing the George Morrison exhibit at the Met with Audrey. This museum is so beautiful to get lost in but I can’t take in more than one exhibit a visit. It’s so nice to spend an hour taking it all in…and looking around at all the beauty as you walk to it, and walk back from it. It was lovely also to spot a Haggadah (first pic) from 1527. This is the book that we use on the first two nights of Passover. What a special edition that the Met has.
